Looking for a summer research experience? Paid summer research fellowships are available for undergraduate students who will be juniors or seniors by the fall semester. Selected students will work on a project relevant to human health in a laboratory of a faculty member at either the University of Arkansas, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, or the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Students with an undergraduate science major (e.g., biology, chemistry) should apply for a fellowship in BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH. The Biomedical Research fellowships are designed for students with a solid background in science who wish to be part of an ongoing research project, develop their technical skills and are interested in pursuing a research career. Students with an undergraduate major in computer sciences, mathematics or a related discipline are encouraged to apply for a fellowship in BIOINFORMATICS. The Bioinformatics fellowships are designed for students who are interested in learning more about how to apply their mathematics and/or computer skills to biomedical research problems and who are considering advanced training in the rapidly growing discipline of bioinformatics/computational biology.

Eligibility: Fellowships are available annually for Arkansas undergraduate students who will be juniors or seniors in fall semester majoring in science, (e.g. biology & chemistry), math and computer science for research experiences in laboratories at the three lead INBRE institutions: UAF, UALR and UAMS.
