Summer Enrichment Day Camp at VCU is a four-week enrichment program for rising fourth- through sixth-grade students designed to enhance their knowledge in the vast array of health careers, biological sciences, as well as provide one-on-one tutoring in the core subjects of math and reading. Students participate in tours, hands-on activities and lectures from a variety of health care professionals and educators throughout the program. Incoming college freshmen participating in the Acceleration Program — a program designed for pre-health students at VCU — provide the one-on-one tutoring for SEDC students. The program exposes participants to all aspects of the health and medical fields, including medicine, dentistry, occupational therapy, nursing, physical therapy, pharmacy, life sciences and healthy lifestyles. Students participate in tours, hands-on activities and lectures from a variety of health care professionals and educators.
Eligibility: Summer Enrichment Day Camp at VCU is a four-week enrichment program for rising fourth- through sixth-grade students designed to enhance their knowledge in the vast array of health careers, biological sciences, as well as provide one-on-one tutoring in the core subjects of math and reading. The SEDC summer program has reserved spaces for students from Henrico Public Schools, Richmond City Public Schools, Charles City Schools and Hopewell Public Schools. Students submitting an online application will be added to a waiting list for spaces not filled by the school districts.
